Self Care Books to Unwind
1. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson
In the mood to read fun self-care books to add to your self care night list?
One of my favorite books to recommend is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson because he goes into depth about not letting situations in life mess with other parts of your life.
2. Atomic Habits by James Clear
Another great book is Atomic Habits by James Clear which has TRANSFORMED how I stick to my workout, blog and night routine.
Eventually the small things you do today will have an effect that future you will thank you for.
3. You are a Badass by Jen Sincero
Jen Sincero’s book You Are a Badass is a great “pick-me-up” book that anyone can take something positive from.
I plan to re-read this book soon because I read it about 3 years ago and miss the feeling of opening this book.

Since starting to write in my bullet journal a few years back, you would be surprised to see how much you change and evolve from just a few lines written!

Fun self-care activities are the key to having a great self care night.
One fun activity is creating an affirmation jar! All you need is a jar, paper, and pens/pencils.

Imagine candles, bath salts, and a clean YOU ready for the next day.

You know those cool videos you see on social media where someone takes a picture of themselves everyday for 15 years?
How about starting a series tonight that you can cherish in the future.

Going to bed with all your favorite bedtime essentials can be a drag when they are laid all over your nightstand creating clutter.

5-Minute Cleaning
When I mention a “quick cleaning”, I mean you don’t have to clean your whole house to have some environmental self-care in your life.

Self Care Movie Night Ideas
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
Is it safe to say that To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before will become a millennial classic?
Starring the amazing Lana Condor and funny Noah Centineo. Romance, comedy, drama in high school. Yes. Okay, moving on.
The Christmas Prince
The best part about The Christmas Prince is that it is a cheesy, yet cute, Christmas series that is easy to binge-watch. I watched this in July once lol.
It stars Rose McIver and Ben Lamb. The movie explains how a journalist and Prince named Richard met and their love story throughout 3 movies. My favorite character is Princess Emily (played by Honor Kneafsey) because of her sass.
Age of Adaline
I might be a little biased because I literally watched this movie yesterday, but Age of Adaline starring Blake Lively is a great movie to watch to appreciate life and smile.
This movie really made an impact on my perspective of aging in life (our society REALLY gives aging a bad rep ughh) and gave me reassurance about the beautiful things that come with growing older.
TV Sitcoms to Binge-Watch at Night
Gilmore Girls
Gilmore Girls has a special place in my heart because I would love to live in a city that feels like Stars Hollow.
If you love the idea of seeing a cute relationship between mother/daughter and all the chaos that comes with neighbors supporting one another, you will enjoy the show.
Friends
Friends is a great sitcom to watch when you just want to laugh and enjoy light, fun binge-watching.
It is my go-to show when you want to feel you have friends around but just want to be alone in your jammies.
The Big Bang Theory
This recommendation is for my fellow gals that love nerding out and romance.
If you can get your hands on The Big Bang Theory, your Star Wars, science brains will LOVE you.
How I Met Your Mother
This show is a great binge-watch if you love being kept in the shadows of who the freakin’ mom is!!
I have watched this show 2 times and given it is 9 seasons, that says a lot.
Home Movie Night Essentials
Movie Night Care Package
For your solo date night, you will want to have MOVIE SNACKS.
You can go the DIY route and gather snacks like popcorn, chips, and candy. The easiest option is to buy a pre-made set like this Redbox movie night package.
Microwave Popcorn Popper
A self care night with movies ESSENTIAL is having a microwave popcorn popper.
All you have to do is put kernels inside and microwave them (I love them and my BIRD loves them).
Popcorn Toppings
If you are going to be having a weekly self care Sunday, that means you will also have POPCORN weekly.
Season that B with popcorn seasoning shakers.
Evening Self Care Essentials You’ll Love
Weighted Blanket
I have had a weighted blanket for 2 years and my sleep improved so much after buying it for my bed (I had trouble staying asleep prior).
My weighted blanket is from Luna and I was able to choose a duvet cover for it that matches my bedroom.
Scalp Massager Shampoo Brush
While you have your before bed shower or bubble bath, try using a scalp massager to really get the shampoo bubbly.
Sometimes I have just stood in the shower scrubbing away until my head felt nice.
Neck and Back Massager
One of the gifts I gave my dad for Christmas was a neck and back massager.
He told me that he uses it a lot after a difficult day at work. A great self care night essential to add to your shower routine.
Scalp Massager
These scalp massagers look a little intimidating, but at first scratch, you will be happy to use it.
Just have a brush ready because your hair might get messed up a bit!
